Het leger meldde dat het Department of Defense Information Network Station Livorno, onderdeel van het 509e Signal Battalion en de 2e Signal Brigade, in het fiscale jaar 2017 de Defense Information Systems Network facility-of-the-year award ontving in de categorie Categorie I kleine transmissiefaciliteit.
Het station bood commando, controle, communicatie, computers en informatiebeheer ondersteuning voor Army Garrison Italy, Army Field Support Battalion-Africa en andere huurorganisaties in Camp Darby en Leghorn Army Depot.
