TEXCOM redesignation in ATEC history

The record

Army history says the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army approved consolidation of developmental and operational testing on November 18, 1998. The resulting reorganization took effect on October 1, 1999, when the Operational Test and Evaluation Command (OPTEC) became the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC).

The same history identifies the Test and Experimentation Command (TEXCOM) as the organization redesignated the U.S. Army Operational Test Command, while the former Test and Evaluation Command became the Developmental Test Command.
