The record
USACE Sacramento announced a $27.575 million contract in January 2023 for more than 2.6 miles of improvements at five sites along the Sacramento River East Levee. The agency identified the work as part of its Sacramento levee improvement activity.
USACE’s public project materials describe American River Common Features as flood-risk work addressing levee erosion, seepage, stability, and overtopping, with associated habitat mitigation. A 2022 solicitation for Lower American River Project 2 described bank protection and riverbank-and-levee stabilization work.
